College of Literature,Tianjin Normal University,Tianjin300387 China) Abstract: Reception theory is one kind of new canonical form of literature research , and its theoretical thinking and comparative literature research approaches are comparatively similar. After reception theory was introduced into the field of comparative literature, it has been absorbed and fused by comparative literature so that the scientificity of study methods has been strengthened and the arbitrariness has been lessened. Thus, one kind of new research approach which is reception study has been formed. Consequently, reception study has helped the researchers to open up new exploration approaches and research fields as well as has poured the vigor into comparative literature. And then reception study and effect research not only have had the consistency of cause-effect relations, but also have shown the entirely different differences. In comparative literature the line of sight of reception study mainly focuses on the readers(recipient) , while effect research based on reception study mainly focuses on the works (broadcasters). Effect research is the causes and effects of literature facts, and also shows the two reciprocal aspects of foreign literature interrelations not only has it made up the deficiency in theory and practice of effect research, but also laid the further foundation to broaden the research space of comparative literature.
