The Legend of Ashymo Respecting Ashymo in Yunnan, nobody would feel strange to her. In Yunan Stone Forest, there is small stone of Ashymo. She is waiting and it seems that she is waiting for the arrival of brother Ahei. According to the legend, long long ago, in a place where was called Azhedi, a poor family called Georgia Road Yat Ming gave birth to a beautiful girl. Father and mother wanted their daughter to gleam like gold, so they gave her a name Ashymo. As Ashymo growing up, she became more and more beautiful, always with his head wearing embroidered Baotou, shiny embroidery around the waist aprons. Due to these, she captured the hearts of many young men in her town.. Furthermore, she could sing and dance, the crisp sound of singing often attract many young men to approach her. Ahei is a brave and intelligent young man of Sani ethnic, his parents were murdered by the chieftain when he was only 12 yeas old. After his parents’ death, he was taken to work as a labor for the man of means. Once Ahei went to the mountain to pick up wild fruits for his host. However, he was lost in the forest, being so cold and starving, but he dared not go home because he was afraid of being published by his host. It was happpened that Ashymo shepherded to the mountain and fell across starved Ahei and she take Ahei to her family for commiserating him. Her father and mother take him to be their adoptive son. Therefore, Ashymo and Ahei lived together from that time. They were innocent playmates and loving each other. As Ahei growing up gradually, he became forthright and upright and be the model of all the young Sani men in Azhedi. Everybody commended him. Because Ahei was hard-working and kind-hearted, he was appreciated so much by Ashymo’s father. He did more than others, and better than others.
