Improve the reading ability. 3. 熟练掌握大数字的表达和比较级、最高级的应用。教学难点熟练掌握大数字的表达和比较级、最高级的应用。教法导航启发式教学和讨论法。学法导航以学生为主体，调动学生的积极性去主动探求知识。教学准备查找有关世界之最的自然地理知识并复习比较级和最高级的用法。教学过程 Step 1 Greetings Greet the class as usual. Step?2?Lead in Ask the students to have a free discussion about the following questions： What sports do you like? Which of the following sports do you think is the most dangerous：swimming，tennis，Taiji，mountain climbing or basketball? The teacher continue asking：What might be the dangers of mountain climbing? 教师启发学生说出：freezing weather condition ; too many people; have to fight with dangerous animals; hard to take in air; thick clouds ; hard to find the way home. （在此过程中，教师可以在讨论中为学生扫清一些语言上的障碍） Step 3 3a Ask the students to read the passage silently and finish the tasks in 3a. Read the passage again and find the dangers; then fill in the chart. Read the passage for a third time and answer the questions. Check the answers and let the students read the passage aloud again. Step 4 Grammar Focus Write down a few numbers on the screen，and let the students say the following sentences： The basketball player is two meters tall. The river is only two meters deep/wide.
