These foreign video works have a huge impact on the Chinese. However, the theory and research on video works are not well developed in China, and most of them are based on the functional equivalence theory. Adaptation Theory put forward by Verschueren from the perspective of pragmatics, provides a new direction for the study of translation. Adaptation Theory has an important influence on the study of translation. It can also be applied to the subtitle translation study of cartoons. This thesis introduces the thesis framework, the research methods, the domestic research status of the subtitle translation of cartoons, as well as three factors of Adaptation Theory: the culture, language structure, aesthetic and cultural expectations of target language readers. It makes comparison and analysis of subtitle translation of Frozen which has been done respectively by the official translator and the author from the perspectives of these three factors above to confirm the existence of adaptation in the subtitle translation of cartoons.
