Abstract Marriage has always been an important topic in cultural history research, because the era background and customs reflect has important effect on offspring. Through the research of the wedding in Chinese and Western culture, we can get a more comprehensive understanding about the cultural and historical background in both China and the west. At the same time, we learned the advantages of western culture under the principle of maintaining their own cultural characteristics in order to update our own cultural deficiencies and avoid our weaknesses. The purpose of the study on the wedding is to research the cultural differences between the two nations，which will make a bit less conflict and contradiction in intercultural communication. The meaning of the study is that it makes beneficial to the communication between different countries.
