第四章 信函 4.8 证明信（Letters of certification） 证明信是以机关、单位或个人名义证明某人身份或其他情况的专用信函。 语言特点 证明信要言辞恳切、有礼貌，语体大多较为正式。对证明对象及事件的描述应该客观、具体、准确。 4.8 证明信（Letters of certification） 具体写作步骤 1）对被证明对象及事件进行客观、简洁的描述，描述应该做到客观、准确。证明信称呼一般不是某一具体的姓名，如“To Whom It May Concern”或者“Dear Sir/ Madam”等，因此，书信的开头不需要任何寒暄，应直入主题。正文一般以“This is to certify that...” 或者 “It is hereby certified that...” 等（相当于汉语中的“特此证明”或者“兹证明”）开头。 2）表明愿意提供更多关于被证明对象的信息。 【例1】 Aug. 20, 2010 To Whom It May Concern, This is to certify that Zhang Lin, male, born on July 1 st, 1980 has been working in ABC company for two years. He started his job as a Merchandising Assistant with the salary of RMB 2000 per month working from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. He has performed his arduous tasks with seriousness and a sense of responsibility.
