Scanning Page * Several Dental CAD softwares are available on the market. Some companies offer a complete solution including scanner and software, some companies are specialized on hard- or software. Dental CAD Page * The file format required for the dental process chain on a EOSint M270 system is STL DCM Both file formats contain information about the 3-dimensional geometry created on in a dental CAD software Data format Page * In order to achieve good fitting dental restorations, EOS design rules are supplied. These rules are a good starting point as the designer is able to adjust the settings according to the needs of the specific dentist. Design Rules Page * For an industrialized production of a large number of crowns an bridges, a automated software can be used. EOS was involved in 3shape developing “Cambridge”. This software can handle up to 600 files and prepare them for the building process on the M270. Data Preparation Page * Cambridge offers different support styles depending on the dental restauration The part orientation depends upon the shape of the restauration The number of supports depends on the support style use for the corresponding geometry Data preparation – Support Generation Page * Cambridge allows to tag the parts prior to the building process. Thus each part can be identified during the whole process chain. Cambridge allows to generate an overview of the job. This overview contains all parts and the time and date of the production.
