Industrial structure is the foundation of economic growth and the fundamental factor in promoting economic growth. But with the development of economy, the matching relationship between the original stable resources and social market environment is bound to be broken, which requires the adjustment of industrial structure and consistent with the requirements of the economic development , which leads to the change of industrial structure, the speed and quality of economic growth will be affected by the changes. On the basis of the related research results at home and abroad and the related argument of the article, it has made correlation analysis about the industrial structure and economic growth by using some intrinsic attribute indexes of industrial structure，such as rangeability, rationalization and upgrading. The article describes the basic situation of economic growth and industrial structure in Hubei province at the first, and has made the further correlation analysis between the two: the degree of Granger Causality Tests show that the change of industrial structure is the granger cause of economic growth, while economic growth is the granger cause of rationality of industrial structure; the grey correlation analysis show that the correlation is the largest of the fundamentals of industrial structure and economic growth. followed by the rationalization of industrial structure, the last is the rate of change of industrial structure. Through the determination of the correlation of two, we can establish correlation model with the Cobb—Douglas function .In addition, we can make an empirical analysis of the relevant data in Hubei Province during the year of 1978-2011, thus illustrating the interaction and impact between the two.
