——化工101王惠茹 Scenic spots and historical sites the first stop is heng moutain Heng Mountain in Shanxi Province is one of the Five Sacred Mountains (五岳名山)of Taoism(道教). At 2,017 m, it is one of the five tallest peaks in China Proper. Heng Shan in Shanxi Province is sometimes known as the Northern Heng Shan(北岳恒山), and the one in Hunan Province as Southern Heng Shan(南岳衡山) . Both mountains have the same pronunciation in Chinese, and the Southern Heng Shan is also one of the Five Sacred Mountains. Hanging Temple(悬空寺) The Hanging Temple is a temple built into a cliff(悬崖) (75 m or 246 ft above the ground) near Mount Heng in Hunyuan County, Shanxi province, China. The closest city is Datong, 64.23 kilometers to the northwest. Along with the Yungang Grottoes, the Hanging Temple is one of the main tourist attractions and historical sites in the Datong area. Built more than 1,500 years ago, this temple is not only for its location on a sheer(陡峭的) precipice(悬崖) but also because it includes Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian elements. The structure is kept in place with oak (橡木)crossbeams (横梁)fitted into holes and chiseled(凿刻) into the cliffs. The main supportive structure was hidden inside the bedrock(岩床). the second spot is Wutai Mountain Mount Wutai , also known as Wutai Mountain or Qingliang Shan, is located in Shanxi, China. The mountain is home to many of Chinas most important monasteries(修道院) and temples. Mount Wutai is home to 53 sacred monasteries, and they were inscribed as a UNESCO (联合国教科文组织)World Heritage Site in 2009. It takes its name from its unusual topography, consisting of five rounded peaks (North, South, East, West, Central), of which the North peak, called Beitai Ding or Yedou Feng, is the highest, and indeed the highest point in northern China Yungang Grottoes(云冈石窟) the third stop is yungang grottoes The Yungang Grottoes are ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes near the city of Datong in the province of Shanxi.
