Of them, 117 species were passage visitors, 48 species winter migrants, 14 species residents and 7 species summer migrants. Thirteen birds were listed as globally threatened species, for example Platalea minor ; 29 species w ere national protected in China; 93 species were in the list of the SinoJapanese Conservation Migrant Agreement and 30 species were in SinoAustralian Conservation Migrants Agreement . Weizhou Island Bird Nature Reserve is an important stopover for those birds which migrate along the w est coast of the Pacific.
