Abstract Abstract Overall arrangement of urban land use is formed in a certain natural environment and social economic condition, and it is the unity of the material space, economic space and social space. Overall arrangement of urban land use has time dimension that changed with the development of time, therefore, urban land-use planning is a constantly adjustable and dynamic process. Faced with various and complex problems brought by rapid urbanization process, interpreting the important parts from complex influential factors and based on it optimizing the overall arrangement of urban land, which has a important theoretical and applicable value. This paper takes the central area in east of Kaifeng (Xiangfu urban area) as an example, to interpret how to reasonably optimize the overall arrangement of urban land under the influence of various factors. This paper is divided into five chapters: Chapter one, it presents the research background, introduces the research status, makes sure the research method and establish the research framework. Chapter two is the reason and method of optimizing urban land-use. This chapter from the height of theory describes the reason, target and specific method of optimizing urban land-use. In terms of reason, it thinks there are five aspects of reasons that are most important for city optimization, which are the reflection on functional division, attention on resource and environment,
