This thesis divided into four parts except for introduction and conclusion. The first part expounds the meaning of legal culture, and summarizes the significance of the construction of legal culture on construction of nation through an analysis of value of the rule of law. The second part introduces the development of western legal culture from the ancient Greek philosophy of law, and summarizes the deep causes of different legal culture through comparison of differences of Chinese and western legal cultures. The third part introduces the paths of exploration of constructing legal state in our country which achieves a lot of valuable experiences but more of a bitter lesson from the late Qing dynasty until the contemporary. The fourth part implicitly and explicitly expounds the paths which will be taken by China’s construction of law country, and put forwards the comprehensive construction of scientific legal culture from two points of view.
