The national defense consciousness of undergraduate can be expressed by good values, group consciousness and the sense of responsibility of states and society, so it can be suggested that emphasis on the undergraduate’s development work of national defense consciousness is a significant part of enhancing the overall national strength. Recent years, universities and colleges across the whole country is committed to the reform of ideological and political education, and fiercely discuss the national defense education and how to enhance student’s national defense consciousness. Meanwhile, these universities also have contribution on the quantitative research of nature and characteristic of national defense consciousness. Socialist core value system, as a major theoretical innovation on the ideological and cultural construction of the communist party of China, represents the gradual mature of the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristic and high theoretical significance as well as value of the times. This paper discuss the nurture work development of undergraduate national defense consciousness in the creative perspective of socialist core value system, with the hope of increasing the era value and social significance of national defense education. Firstly, this paper investigates the basic connotation of national defense consciousness and socialist core value system and its significance for undergraduate’s growth.
