Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 00039) Abstract: Based on the ecoenvironmental and socioeconomic data of 8 counties ( cities) in Si chuan province, the precipitation, temperature, forest cover, land use patterns, population, GDP, geological disasters, etc. w ere selected as key indicators, w hich reflect the ecological and e conomic conditions, to set up the ecological and economic evaluation index system. By w ay of a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods and GIS technology, the geographical differ entiation law and characteristics of Sichuan province w ere analyzed and the study on ecoeconomic regionalization w as completed. According to the ecological environment, socioeconomic condi tions and human activities on the county scale, Sichuan province is divided into 5 ecoeconomic re gions and 3 ecoeconomic subregions.
