Abstract Research and realize the irrigation district management information systems and management of the irrigation area of automation is important measures to promote Chinas modernization and standardization of the management of irrigation district. With the rapid development of information technology, information processing methods are gradually changed from manual to computer. It is necessary requirements to develop information technology of the irrigation district. This paper integrates with actual irrigated areas,making use of GIS spatial information management and analysis functions, will combine a mature graphics technology with database technology and establish a visualization of the irrigation area with irrigation management information systems.Irrigation District irrigation management information systems, including three parts: irrigation area daily business management module, the irrigated area of geographic information module and user management module. In this paper, a detailed study of Web-based Irrigation District irrigation management system design ideas and methods, the main contents are: Analysis the principles and methods of Information Engineering; Analysis of the Web-based architecture and key technologies; Combine with Chinas the characteristics of organization and management of the irrigation area,modeling on business process; Use a Irrigation District as an example detailed description of the system and achieve development. Research shows that in Chinas irrigation management business information model, using WebGIS spatial analysis technology have great significance of improving standardized mamagement.
