Ltd., Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 310053 China Abstract As an application of internet of things (IOT) in transportation, internet of vehicles (IOV) attracts much attention both at home and abroad. The IOV business involves a very complicated and multi-disciplinary engineering, thus needs relevant enterprises in the production chain to work together. The industrial chain structure of IOV and the current status of each part are first analyzed in this paper, and the prominent role played by the automotive manufacturers and the system integrators in the chain is recognized. At the moment, development of IOV technology and products are still very scattered, with little co-ordination. Due to the rapid growing demand for automobile consumption and the favorite macro environment, the market potential of IOV is very promising and bright. It is estimated that the installation of IOV oriented terminals and facilities in vehicles will increase at about 10% annually, with the direct market revenue by IOV service and provision reach ¥20 billion by 2015.
