* Lesson 8 Building Facilities 1、Cold Water Supply System in Dwellings Water may be supplied to cold taps either directly from the mains via the supply pipe or indirectly from a protected cold water storage cistern. In some cases a combination of both methods of supply may be the best arrangement. Factors to consider when designing a cold water supply system are shown in Fig8.1 and Fig8.2. 1.cistern 水塔,蓄水池 2.via 管道 Cistern omitted where hot water is supplied from: (a)an unvented hot water system;or(b)mains—fed instantaneous water heater. High Pressure supply is more suitable for instantaneous type shower heaters, hose taps and mixer fitting used in conjunction with a high pressure (unvented) hot water supply. All taps are supplied under mains pressure and are therefore suitable for drinking and food preparation. omit 忽略 unvent 未排出,未放出 hose 软管 Supply pipe must be protected against backflow from cistern. Risk of frost damage in roof space. Reserve supply of water available in case of mains failure. Pressure available from storage may not be sufficient for some types of tap or shower. Means for preventing the rise from being above the strength of the vessel are provided by safety valves. As the pressure rises so does the temperature, thus, this further heat entering the water is in the form of sensible heat in the liquid and steam, the latent heat falling as the pr
