Abstract Abstract The penetration of water pressure and seepage field distribution in the side slope is one of the important factors that affect slope stability and deformation. This paper combine the engineering application, study the finite element calculation of three-dimensional seepage in-depth, and prove the correctness, accuracy and practicality of the calculation method. This paper start from the basic theory of seepage, introduce the specific derivation of Darcys law,it has a more detailed derivation of the basic equation of seepage, including the equations of motion, continuity equation, stable seepage differential equations, unsteady seepage of differential equations, the changes of the free surface seepage of differential equations. Also, it introduces the history of the development and the basic idea of analysis of seepage finite element,analyses its principles and implementation methods, boundary conditions, and solves the seepage field and determine how to deal with the free surface location. The thesis recommend the general situation of the actual project, apply the theory and combine the three-dimensional seepage analysis software Seep3D, establish channels model, input the conditions and data according to the actual data,and conduct seepage analysis and calculation. And we use the two-dimensional seepage analysis software LIZHENG and AutoBANK, modeling and have seepage analysisof this project, then have comparative analysis of the results from the three-dimensional seepage analysis software, it can be seen that the saturation line varia
