Revision Dance together while singing the song Hands up, hands down STEP 2. Lead –in After singing the song, I’ll ask ss to sit down. “Sit down , please.”’(write down this sentence on the blackboard ). Then ask them to stand up. “ Stand up, please.” Then “Put up your hands”, “Put down”. “Be quiet, please” and so on.(write down these sentences on the blackboard ). Then let ss to read the sentences above together. After reading, I’ll tell ss, “This is our new lesson Imperative Sentence.” (Write “Imperative Sentence” on the blackboard.) Then ask ss “Do you know what the Imperative Sentence is ’ and show the answer on the PPT. Step 3. A Guessing Game Show some with pictures on PPT to ss, and let them try to guess out the meanings( using Imperative Sentences.) Turn left. Turn right. Be quiet, please. Keep off the grass. Let me help you. Don’t smoke. ( No smoking.) Don’t park your car. Don’t eat here. Don’t pick the flowers. Don’t sleep in class. Then ask the ss to read the sentences together, and try to draw a conclusion of the usage of imperative sentence. 祈使句用法口诀: 祈使句,无主语,只要动词就可以; 表示请求或命令,加上please表客气; 如果变成否定句,Don’t开头是旋律; NO talking !是警示,祈使用法要牢记! Step4. Practice Group work This part will be finished by 2 or 3 students together. They can use the sentences given on PPT. Here is an example. A: (to B) “please open the door.” B: go and open the door. I’ll ask some groups to show their jobs, and show my opinions for their performance such as “quite good! Well done! So excellent” and so on.
