His magnanimous soul and simple outlook on life overflows spontaneously in the seemingly careless and simple narration. That is why I would like to put other masters aside for a while but emphasize on the tender feelings of Qi Baishi’s works. Since natural and man-made disasters are constant throughout the ages, the want of “a long life, a peaceful world” remains the inner voice shared by ordinary people under heaven.
