ABSTRACT Results of an investigation of methods of controlling flash and the application of a real-time closed-loop
shot control system to control impact pressure are presented.The process of making various parts using the high pres-
sure die casting process was examined using a comprehensive process monitoring system and controlled by a seven-
phase real-time closed-loop shot control system.The requirements and benefits of the low-impact control system are de-
scribed.
