Background With the rapid development of economic globlezation, the business relationship between china and the other countries is becoming closer and closer, so various kinds of foreign products are flowing into Chinese market. Cosmetics is one of the popular products which loved by most consumers espacilly the ladies resulting in a high sales volume。The good performance of it can not be achieved without a excellent cosmetic instruction which is the premise to open the Chinese market. Nowadays, however, many translation of the english cosmetic instructions are too scadualed to cause the attention of buyers. Therefor the translation of cosmetic instruction has become an important and urgent task. As the result of commoy economy ,it not only has to be standard and precise like technology paper , but also to adjust to the “KISS” principle of advertising --that is “Keep It Short Sweet”. How to achieve this is a difficult problem for the reason that the theory applied in approaching the translation of the cosmetic instructions is inadequate and unsestimatic. The skopo theory which rose up in the 1970s, is a relatively new model on translation studies. It served as a driving force of the development of the translational studies with a new view to tranlation, especcially the the translation of the practical texts. The skopo theory can play a significant role if adequedely applied in the tranlations of cosmatic instructions. This paper focuse on the type of cosmetic instrcutions, its fuctions and specility, and tranlational strategies in the light of the skopo theory. II.
