长春师范学院本科毕业论文（设计） PAGE PAGE V 从文化角度谈动物习语翻译 摘要：习语有着丰富的民族色彩，一国的习语往往取材于这一国生活环境中熟悉的事物。英汉两种语言皆有丰富的动物习语，然而由于东西方文化的极大差异，东西方人对于同一种动物有着迥异的看法，其联想也截然不同。因而英汉动物习语各自所蕴涵的文化意义就存在差异。在跨文化交际过程中，只有正确理解各个语种的文化内涵才能正确翻译。本文从介绍习语定义出发，并在此基础上高度概括出动物习语的含义及特点。然后，从各个方面对中西文化内涵进行分析比较，重点对中西动物形象及内涵的差异做了全面而又细致的描述。其次，总结其中动物文化内涵的异同，鉴赏各自动物习语所承载的不同文化信息。最后，在此基础上介绍了符合各自文化特点的动物习语的翻译理论与技巧。 关键词：习语 动物习语 文化差异 翻译技巧 On Translation of Animal Idioms from a Cultural Perspective Chen Yufang Abstract: Languages distinguish from each other because of different cultures. Idioms, as carriers of culture, have rich cultural color. Idioms usually derive from familiar things around human beings. Animals, as human’s close friends, make thousands of animal idioms appear. However, because of the big difference between English and Chinese, people from different nations may hold different opinions and may have different imaginations when they see the same animal. Therefore, the cultural connotations of the same animals may be different, too. In terms of animal idioms translation, it is a concrete operating process. There is no doubt that there exist similarities and dissimilarities between English and Chinese animal idioms. Cultural factors play a vital role in the animal idioms both in English and Chinese. Thus, it is important to have a comprehensive knowledge of culture features of English and Chinese in order to translate animal idioms perfectly. This paper will explore their particular features, analyze their differences and similarities from the cultural perspective and tentatively put forward some translating strategies of English and Chinese animal idiom expressions so that we can make cross-cultural communication successfully.
