Abstract: As one of the most abundant renewable natural polymers on earth, cellulose is readily available and
inexpensive.Also it can be biodegraded easily w ithout pollution on environment.Many investigators have done w orks
on the development and utilization of cellulose for a long time.In this paper, the preparation of adsorbents based on
cellulose is review ed. T he structures and properties of the modified cellulose as metalion adsorbents and special
adsorbents are introduced.T he longterm potential development of cellulosebased adsorbents is mentioned.
