People study on various values in creative furniture design and figure out how they fulfill users’ needs so as to provide satisfying products for customers and promote the development of Chinese furniture design. On the basis of literature review and case study, this paper is to discuss the values in furniture design, including functional value, emotional value, cultural value and environmental value, to find out the properties and significance of these values, to explore the ways of improvement and the trends of furniture design, and finally to give suggestions to Chinese contemporary furniture design. Conclusion can be drawn that only the furniture which takes into account of various design value will build emotion connection with the users, meet users’ physical and physiological need, and at the same time, inherit and develop culture and protect our environment. Consequently, Chinese contemporary design should break through the limitation and build up new design values to solve current problem.
