The diversified development aiming at different target markets should be adopted to help the traditional blue calico industry get rid of the relatively passive situation. To achieve this target, this essay suggests that the development of blue calico should draw lessons from the success of kirigami and other related crafts and pattern design and explore the ideas and methods of creative designs from the most intuitionistic iconic symbols and crafts.
