1)Improving reading skills: get important information by skimming and scanning
2)Being able to use the mind map to retell the story
3)Being able to give suggestions when you talk about some social issues
3、Moral Objectives:
1)Arousing students’ attention of saving animals in danger
2)Care about animals and the nature
二、Teaching emphasis:
1) Learn to use some new phrases
The elephant is one of Thailand’s symbols.
This is a symbol of good luck.
But elephants are in great danger.
People cut down many trees so elephants are losing their homes.
We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory.
2) Getting some information by skimming and scanning
? Deciding the best title
? Summarizing the main ideas of each paragraph
三、Teaching difficulties:
1) Completing the mind map and being able to retell the story
2) Sharing suggestions of saving the animals in danger
四、Teaching methods:
Task-based language teaching, skimming method, scanning method, group work, pair work and summarizing
五、Teaching aids:
PPT, tape player, some colorful pens and paper to make posters

Ⅰ Warming-up and Duty report
1 Greeting each other
2 Duty report: Saving the Pandas
? Ask and answer questions about the report
? Let students know the importance of saving pandas
Ⅱ Presentation:Reading
一 Lead in
1 Based on the report of saving pandas, let students talk more about the animals they think are in great danger.
S1: I think tigers are in great danger because ......
S2: I think koalas are in great danger because......
2 The teacher shows students some pictures of animals in danger to arouse their attention to save them.
