Methods: Relevant data were collected through on-site research and questionnaires. The current situation and problems of drug control institutions in China were analyzed in details. Results and Conclusion: Drug control institutions should make full use of their traditional advantages to actively participate in the reform and development in the following aspects: enhancing their capacity, retaining public welfare attributes, expanding testing qualifications, carrying out the research on alternative testing methods and reserving and training talents.
