Unit 6 I’m going to study computer science.
Section A 1a-1c

Step 1 Greetings
Step 2 Words-learning
Lead the students to read the words on P41 of the word list. Then ask them to read the words together.
Step 3 Lead-in
Talk something about the title, and ask the students what are you going to be in 2028?
Step 4 Guessing game
Guess what’s the people’s job.
A dancer(pay attention to the end of the nouns.) Review some of the jobs after showing all.
Step 5 Presentation
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a computer programmer.
Then show some other pictures to the students and ask them to practice more. Then praise the students if they did well. (You did very well.)
Then lead in more.
How are you going to do that?
I’m going to study computer science.
Show the students four more jobs and how you are going to do that. Ask them to practice and show the conversations to the class.
Step 6 Listening
After knowing some information of what we learn. Listen to some dialogues and fill in the blanks. Then match the items.
Before listening, ask the student to guess the blanks.
The first time, fill in the blanks.
The second time, match the items.
Check the answers.
Ask the student to underline the be going to sentences and notice the same part of the sentences, be prepare for the grammar focus. (If we have time, follow the listening materials)
Step 7 Pair work
Ask the student to practice the four conversation, then make their own conversations by using the knowledge we know.
Then write the dialogue down and act the conversation out.
Step 8 Summary
Summarize the target language.
Sentences pattern:
--What do you want to be when you grow up?
--I want to be a/an…
-- How are you going to do that ?
-- I am going to …
be going to +v原形表示“打算做某事”
Step 9 Homework
1. Make three conversations like 1c.
2. Exercise book: 77
