Objective T o study the clinical results of the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fracture w ith compressive slidin hip screw Methods 42 patients w ith unstable intertrochanteric fracture w ere treated w ith compressive slidin hip screw. Accordin to Evans modified classification method, 7 cases w ere of ∀ type, 24 of # type and 11 of ∃ type. Results All the fractures were reduced and fix ed well. After an avera e followup of 17 months, all were cured. There w ere no varus deformity of hip joint , no break of the plates or loosenin of the screws and the functional recovery of hip joint was satisfactory . Con clusion T he compressive slidin hip screw has merits of stable fix ation, no complicat ions and convenience for early ex ercises. This is an effective internal fix ation for the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric frac tures. Key Words!
