Key Laboratory of Cultivation and Protection for Non-Wood Forest Trees, Ministry of Education, Central South University of Forestry Technology, Changsha 410004, Hunan, China) Abstract: In order to promote coordinated development of Vernicia fordii industry and environment-friendly paint industry, tortuous development history of V. fordii industry and traditional paint industry was reviewed, and some serious hazards of currently used solvent-based paints and water-based paints to human health and environmental protection were analyzed. Combining with research progress and current situation of tung oil in the chemical industry in recent decades, some problems existing in appli
