This special optimization is offered in addition to the generic layer-4 optimization (TFO/DRE) currently offered for other video formats and protocols, including video on demand applications. This covers video over HTTP, Flash, QuickTime, RealVideo and any other video protocol over TCP. The video optimizations provided leverage automatic stream classification at layer-7 and do not require any management or coordination prior or during the video event. This allows reduced management overhead, simplifies the production of live video events and enables each IT group in the organization to concentrate on the task at hand. When the live even starts, as soon as the first client connects through WAAS, the video optimizer will automatically identify the live event, communicate the user authentication, authorization and control commands to the video server at the datacenter and if allowed to, will deliver the video stream to the client. Any additional client from that site that is accessing the same live stream will be served locally without incurring additional streams on the w
