9.4 Identification of Vehicle Parameters Using theoretical modeling methods such as those of Chapter 8 a so-called parametric model can be obtained, which gives the relationship between the physical data of the system and its parameters. Static parameters can be obtained via measurements or from data sheets. Some parameters are however subject to change over time, and so to improve model quality they must be periodically estimated and updated within the model.
