浙江大学硕上学位论文Rule 浙江大学硕上学位论文 Rule Driven Modeling Abstract Nowadays，computer aided modeling technique has been widely used in many areas．The long standing problem for computer aided modeling is how to rapidly construct 3D models with hj曲fidelity．In this thesis，a rule driven modeling technique is presented，Firstly,we analyze and extract the features of the target objects，which are then described as formalized(explicit)or structured(implicit)rules for the construction of the rule set．Finally,by inputting rule selection constraint，We use the rule set to complete the modeling process and obtain 3D models that satisfy the original feature criteria．The modeling process subjects to the inputting constraint and follows the extracted rules，as a result，the fidelity ofthe models are guaranteed．Also，by transforming the modeling process into iterative interpretation and derivation of explicit or implicit rules，the modeling efficiency is greatly improved In this thesis，the goals，contents and background of OLff research is briefly introduced in chapter 1．In chapter 2，by covering the theory,general process and data representation，we give an overview of the rule driven technique．Two explicit ride driven modeling techniques are also introduced in this chapter．We then describe the explicit rule driven technique in detail in chapter 3 taken the modeling process ofthe Chinese traditional architecture as an example．The modeling of individual buildings，∞well as building groups，is discussed in detail in order to demonstrate the extracting of rules，the construction of rule set，the interpretation of the rules，the constrained rule selection and the generating of 3D models．In chapter 4，the implicit rule driven modeling technique is applied to the construction of virtual cities．By describing the road planning rules in the rule set，a road engine is constructed and is then used to generate the city layout．Afterwards， building models are positioned and the virtual city is constructed by functionality
