II II RESEARCH ON THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TIME AND SPACE OF JILIN PROVINCE’S TOURIST ECONOMY AND ITS OPTIMIZED DEVELOPMENT ABSTRACT Our country’s tourist economy has been steadily improving. Under such circumstances, the development of tourist economy in the east and the west is imbalanced. Jilin Province is located in the northeast, and its tourist economy has been advancing year by year. However, judging by the ranking of all the provinces’ tourist economy in China, Jilin Province’s tourist economy lags behind. Many researchers have conducted studies on the tourist economy of all the provinces and cities in China, but few researchers have studied the differences of time and space of tourist economy. Researches on the differences of time and space of tourist economy of Jilin Province is really rare. The research aims at the quantitative analysis of the development of Jilin Province’s tourist economy and making suggestions as to how to optimize it. Based on the collection and arrangement of the research achievements on the development of tourist economy both home and abroad, this thesis sorts all the data of Jilin Province within the past twenty years, quantitatively analyzes relevant tourist quota, and makes suggestions as to how to optimize Jilin Province’s tourist economy. First of all, the researcher compared the tourist resources of the three northeastern provinces after calculating the abundance index and found that of the three northeastern provinces, Jilin Province’s abundance index is the lowest. Then the researcher analyzed the year-on-year growth of the tourist income and tourist traffic from 2009 to 2012 to get a general idea of the development of Jilin Province’s economy. Secondly, the research applied the theory of Gray Relational Analysis and analyzed the development of Jilin Province’s economy from 2009 to 2012 and found that what influence Jilin Province’s economy most is the total amount of imports and exports.
