英语升学作文 　　 　　I’m my mother’s daughter. 　　1957. Chongqing, China. A baby girl was adopted by Mr. Fang’s family. The baby girl, Qi, 　　glances up at her foster mother with a pristine look unique to babies as she is held safely 　　in the adult’s arms. Little did Qi know that in the years to come, her nation was about to face 　　the Cultural Revolution. 　　Perhaps Qi has a very similar personality to her birth mother, Wei, an only child in a family 　　with a diplomatic background: beautiful, classy and intelligent. Wei is a social butterfly 　　 　　in the fifties and also the wife of a general. To Wei, Qi was a mistake, a stain on her perfect life. 　　The only option was to give Qi to her neighbor, Mr. Fang’s second wife. Qi’s purpose in life 　　was selfishly manipulated by these two women. From then on, this history acted as the catalyst 　　to her dramatic life and began the thread that pulls at her family’s destiny. 　　Throughout Qi’s adult life, she experienced two marriages. Her older daughter is the memory 　　of the first marriage. The latter gave her a younger daughter and a loving family. Victoria is nine 　　years older than Belle and she followed Qi through many experiences. Since a young age, 　　Qi showed Victoria a life-changing poem; “The Road not Taken” (Robert Frost). Qi explained that 　　this poem gave her the courage to ‘take the road less traveled by’ in life. Victoria attended high 　　school in Hong Kong and eventually moved to Canada with the family. Through a fortuitous　　　　 　　 　　volunteer opportunity, she accepted a job offer from a top-tier media company in China and 　　left Canada. The day Victoria left, Qi said, “Maybe this is fate.” 　　2011. My name is Belle. I’m not just an ordinary seventeen-year-old girl. I am Qi’s youngest 　　daughter. As a child, I disliked the word ‘ordinary’. Since my mother told me her stories, I labeled 　　her as an extraordinary person whom I will forever look up to. Before I was ten, I lived in three 　　different cit
