Thus spurious TCP retransmission timeouts will happen periodically The analysis. under static topology proves that suitable link-layer retransmission limit, e. g. 5, can get optimal TCP performance. The optimum retransmission limit is related to the traffic load added in the network. The simulation under dynamic topology shows that different moving speed of nodes won t bring additional requirements on link-layer retransmission for higher TCP throughput.
