Abstract ：Two typical structures for broadband beamformering using FIR filters and rectangular arrays are discussed respectively, their beampattern is deduced and represented by the uniform function. Based on the selection of reference beampattern, mathe- matical models are established for these pattern synthesis problems and then solved effectively by SOCP （Second-Order Cone Programming ）methods. Simulation results suggest that the proposed mathematical models are general in finding weights of constant- beamwidth broadband beamformers, and the SOCP methods make the pattern synthesis problem with flexible constraints solved in a more accurate, convenient and easy way.
