Abstract The root maggot, Brady sia odorip haga Yang et Zhang, is one o the most important pests o Chinese
chives (Allium tuberosum ).How ever it has been ound on an early matured and small-sized w atermelon variety,
named as Zao Chun Hong Yu in Caidian District, Hubei Province.Its li e history, living habits and control methods
w ere brie ly introduced in this paper and they are similar to those in on Chinese chives.
