Its creative concept and works has great influence on the prose circle. New prose has obvious poetic character. To study new prose from the perspective of poetry can help us understand its poetic connotation and aesthetic tendency better. The thesis is divided into three parts to discuss the new prose from the perspective of poetry. The introduction part first introduces the general situation of the new prose, clarifies the naming origin of it and specifies its production and development condition from the perspective of writer, works and journals. Secondly, the introduction part illustrates the feasibility of study new prose from the perspective of poetry. Authors of new prose mostly have the identity of poet. Prose and poetry are closely linked since the ancient time. Poetry is the important way to build the spirit connotation and aesthetic consciousness of new prose. Finally, it summarizes the existing research results and its significance of the new prose. The first chapter of this thesis from the perspective of creative subject discusses the new prose authors’ poetic thoughts, their “new sensation” towards things and the great influence of their childhood for text creation. Among which, the irregular way of thinking and the “new feeling” of “get rid of things” is the important way to discover and experience poetry. And the experience of childhood is the best way and common theme for poetic writing. The second chapter mainly discusses the poetic connotation of new prose, including free and independent poetic spirit, life poetic, the ultimate concern and the poetic within daily life.
