“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛报名表 14th Annual Worldwide College-Level “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Language Competition Saturday, April 25, 2015 (Tentative)* Fairfax, Virginia A regional Mandarin Chinese language competition for college-level, non-native speakers organized by the Confucius Institute at George Mason University in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy Education Office *Competition date and time will be confirmed in late March Theme: My Chinese Dream 我的中国梦 Competition components: Speech (maximum of 3 minutes) - 70% of the total score. Speeches will be evaluated based on content, expression, pronunciation, and grammar. A follow-up question will be asked related to the speech content. Question Answer - 10% of the total score. Each contestant will answer 1 – 2 required questions, then respond to a quick response quiz. Cultural Performance (maximum of 3 minutes) - 20% of the total score. Cultural demonstrations or “talent” of any kind related to Chinese culture, including dance, martial arts, xiang-sheng, poetry, skit, song, instrumental music, etc. Performances will be evaluated on Chinese cultural presentation, artistic skills, audience appeal, and Chinese language skills embedded in the performance. Registrations accepted from: Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, N. Carolina, N. Dakota, S. Carolina, S.
