The void volume is represented as the interconnected pore space that can be occupied by a fluid such as gas, water, oil or, for laboratory purposes, mercury. Bulk Volume ：In routine core analysis, the bulk volume is usually determined either by caliper measurements or by displacement of mercury in a pycnometer.
