节英美文学经典 ;8: Jane Austen ，1775-1817 ;9: The Bronte Sisters: the story of The Bronte Sisters, Charlotte（1816-1855）, Emily (1818-1868), Anne (1820-1869), all literary, all talented and all dying young, is one of the saddest pages in the history of English literature. Charlotte’s works: Jane Eyre brought her fame and placed her in the ranks of the foremost English realistic writers. She attacked the greed, pretty tyranny and lack of culture among the bourgeoisie and sympathized with the suffering of the poor people. Her realism was colored by pretty-bourgeois philanthropy（博爱，慈善）. ;Emily Bronte was a poet and novelist. She is famous for her powerful novel Wuthering Heights. In the opinion of many critics, Emily was the most gifted of the three Bronte sisters. Anne’s works: Agnes Grey (1867) and The Tenant of the Wild fell Hall (1869).;10: Charles Dickens ，1812 - 1870 ;Famous works: The Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist, The Old Curiosity Shop, Hard Times, A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, Our Mutual Friend. The Pickwick Papers, which shows Dickens’s novel writing: an encyclopedic knowledge of London, inexhaustible powers of character creation, a strong narrative impulse and a highly individual and inventive prose style.;6: William Wordsworth， 1770-1850，;11. Thomas Hardy, 1860-1928 英国维多利亚时代最后一位和最重要的小说家。一生以英国南部小镇为背景写了很多“威塞克斯系列”（the Wessex novels）的小说，主要有：《德伯家的苔丝》（Tess of the D’Urbervilles，《无名的裘德》（Jude the Obscure）、《还乡》(The Return of the Native)等。小说中充满了悲观主义（pessimistic）的人生观和宿命论的思想。 　　 Hardy’s heroes and heroines are all vividly and realistically depicted. And finally, all the works of Hardy are noted for the rustic dialect and a poetic flavor which fits well into their perfectly designed architectural structures.
