Methods 　The effect of ZD 1839 on cervical carcinoma cell s ( Siha , Hela) wa s det ermined by M T T a ssay . The effect of ZD 1839 combined wit h ci splatin (DD P) on cervical carcinoma cell s was al so evaluat ed . Bur gi formula wa s adop t ed to analyze combination effect . The di st ri bution of cell cycle and cell apop to si s rat e were analyzed by flow cytomet ry . Results 　The p roliferation of cervical carcinoma cell lines ( Siha , Hela) wa s inhibit ed by ZD 1839 ,and t he effect was do sedep endent . ( ) μ The value of IC50 for t he effect of ZD 1839 on cervical carcinoma cell lines Siha , Hela was 1. 4 8 mol/ L μ and 2 . 67 mol/ L resp ectively . ZD 1839 could enhance t he effect of DD P on Siha and Hela cell s. The Q values by Bur gi formula were 1. 06 ±0 . 03 and 1. 13 ±0 . 0 1 resp ectively . ZD 1839 could change cell cycle and t he rat e of apop to si s. Conclusion 　ZD 1839 inhibit s t he p roliferation of cervical carcinoma cell s and enhances t he effect of DD P . ZD 1839 induces cervical carcinoma cell s ( Siha , Hela) cell cycle arrest in t he G1 p hase and induce apop to si s. Key words :Cervical carcinoma ;ZD 1
