Enemies or friends, different people havedifferent views on this debate. Some believe that rules and laws kill the soul of freedom in themodern society. However, I believe that it is the regulations that protect the surroundings offreedom and civil rights indeed. 　　Frankly, drawing up too many rules and laws without limitations will obstruct the path ofseeking freedom. Namely, people will not pursue freedom with the heavy loss of other benefits, even the loss of their lives. However, this situation only occurs in rare conditions like warfareor regime shift. In fact, reasonable regulations protect rather than destroy freedom. 　　When it comes to how rules and laws guarantee people#39;s freedom, there are three waysobviously. Firstly, freedom, with a fancy name, is a relative and subtle thing, which can neverbe ascertained by certain definitions and conditions. No absolute freedom results inimpossibility to pursue absolute freedom. Secondly, absolute freedom will bring about aweird situation that people who focus on their own benefits would demolish others#39; benefits ifno regulation is established in society. In other words, most rules and laws play roles inshielding the public order and benefits. Lastly, laws and rules also have culturalimplications in ageneral view. At least, they should be regarded as human#39;s legacy, historically andtraditionally. 　　All in all, without laws and rules, society will be in chaos undoubtedly.
