The presentation consists of 4 parts: Part 1 The analysis of teaching material and students Part 2 Teaching methods and studying activities Part 3 Teaching procedures Part 4 Blackboard design Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material And Students Aspect 1 Analysis of teaching material The passage mainly tells us some health benefits of laughing by listing some examples and presenting results of some researches. After learning the passage, students know to keep healthy, people need to laugh every day. People should keep positive even if life is full of stress and trouble. The passage is not long with some new words. And the topic is related to students’ daily life. Therefore, it is easy for students to understand it. It’s indeed a good article for students to further think about why more and more people study laughing and why more and more people practice laughing. Aspect 2 Analysis of students Hardworking, eager for knowledge, but too shy to convey themselves in English. Have basic reading skills, but need more practice. Aspect 3 Teaching Objectives 1. Help students understand the new words related to medicine: immune system, allergy attack, stress hormones, relieve pain, antibody etc. 2. Drill students to summarize the main idea gather and process information in intensive reading. (Moral objectives ) 3. Guide students to critically think about the advice and further think about how to keep a positive attitude even in bad situation. Aspect 4 Key and difficult points of this class: Key point: Drill students’ reading techniques to understand the passage. Difficult point: Guide students to think deeply and critically.
