Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came 单元语法专练过去进行时 1.用法:过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行的动作。 2.常用的时间状语:at that time/moment,(at) this time yesterday/last night/Sunday/last week...,at+时刻+yesterday/last night/Sunday...,when sb.did sth.等。例如: I was doing my homework at this time yesterday.昨天的这个时候我正在做作业。 3.过去进行时的构成: (1)肯定句:主语+was/were+doing+其他. (2)否定句:主语+was/were+not+doing+其他. (3)一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+doing+其他? 简略回答:Yes,主语+was/were./No,主语+wasn’t/weren’t. (4)特殊疑问句:疑问词+was/were+主语+doing+其他. 4.while和when的用法区别。 (1)引导时间状语从句时,when既可以连接时间点,又可以连接时间段;when既可以与延续性动词连用,又可以与非延续性动词连用。while连接时间段,与延续性动词连用。例如: When my cousin came yesterday,I was playing volleyball.昨天我表哥来的时候,我在打排球。 I was drawing while my brother was reading.我弟弟在看书的时候,我在画画。 (2)while可以连接两个进行时态的句子,而when不可以。例如: I was trying my best to finish my work while my sister was watching TV.我妹妹在看电视时,我正在努力完成工作。 (3)when用作并列连词时,when前的分句常用进行时态,when后的分句则用一般过去时,表示when前的分句动作发生的过程中,另一个意想不到的动作发生了。例如: I was taking a walk when I met him.我正在散步,突然遇见了他。 Ⅰ.单项填空 (A)1.—Hey,Kate,you weren’t at home at eight o’clock last night,were you? —Oh,I 　　　　 in the library when you called me.?
