单元语法专练;简单句和复合句之间的转换( 二 ) 1.用介词短语把状语从句转换为简单句。 ( 1 )由when,before,after等引导的时间状语从句,可以用相应的介词短语来代替。例如: We’ll play football when school is over. →We’ll play football after school.放学后我们要踢足球。 You must wash your hands before you have meals. →You must wash your hands before meals.吃饭前你必须洗手。 ( 2 )由if,unless引导的条件状语从句,可以用由without构成的介词短语来代替。例如: People can’t live if there is no air or water. →People can’t live without air or water.没有空气和水,人类不能生存。;( 3 )由because引导的原因状语从句,可以用由because of构成的介词短语来代替。例如: We didn’t go there because it rained heavily. →We didn’t go there because of the heavy rain.由于下大雨,我们没有去那里。 ( 4 )由( as... ) as引导的比较状语从句,有时可以用“be of the same+名词”结构来代替。例如: Lily is as old as Lucy. →Lily and Lucy are of the same age.莉莉和露西年龄一样大。;2.用介词短语把宾语从句转换为简单句。 某些动词后的宾语从句,可以转换为“介词+动名词( 短语 )”的形式。例如: He insisted that he should go with us. →He insisted on going with us.他坚持要和我们一起去。 The poor boy doesn’t know when and where he was born. →The poor boy doesn’t know the time and the place of his birth.那个可怜的男孩不知道他出生的时间和地点。 3.用介词短语把定语从句转换为简单句。 如果定语从句中的谓语动词have表示“有”的含义,从句可转换成由with构成的介词短语作后置定语。例如: He is a man who has a lot of money. →He is a man with a lot of money.他是个有钱人。;Ⅰ.将下列复合句改为简单句 1.Are you sure that they are interested in it?
