With immediate effect, all Hong Kong registered ships shall carry out the maintenance and inspections of fixed carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing systems in accordance with Hong Kong Merchant Shipping Information Note No. 39/2009, “IMO Guidelines for the Maintenance and Inspections of Fixed Carbon Dioxide Fire-extinguishing Systems”. This new requirement supersedes all previous requirements for the maintenance and inspections of fixed carbon dioxide fire-extinguishing systems on Hong Kong registered ships.
