Testing the Effect of Search and Evaluation on Vocabulary Learning: An Empirical Study 关于搜索和评估对词汇习得影响的实证研究 Acknowledgements During my four-year study in Shanghai Jiaotong University, I have received much help from many people. They offered me both intellectual and personal help in writing this thesis. It is the earnest teaching, great lecturing, insightful suggestion and kind help of my teachers and friends that have deepened my knowledge in linguistics and English study. I think their teaching is my life-long wealth. 摘要 在外语学习中，词汇的重要性已被广泛认可。词汇习得问题在二语教学法和研究中已引起越来越多的关注。然而，学习者如何更好地习得词汇仍然有待进一步探索。 外语老师和二语习得的研究者们普遍认为通过做练习的方式习得词汇会比直接讲授词汇更有效。在解释不同任务的成效时，B.Laufer和J.H. Hulstijn (2001)提出了“投入量假设”，他们认为词汇习得效率的高低和任务中的“投入量”大小有很大的关系；并且提出“投入量”由“需要”、“搜索”和“评估”三部分组成。他们针对此假说做了两个平行实验。第一个在荷兰的实验完全验证了该假说，然而第二个在以色列的实验只是部分证实了该假说。因此，指出了该假说的不足之处，希望研究者们能为“投入量假设”提供进一步证实。 本文以“投入量假设”为理论框架，旨在检验和评价“投入量假设”。本文的研究对象是上海交通大学非英语专业的大二学生。他们被分为了两个组，并被要求完成两个投入总量相同但评估和搜索的投入量不同的任务（选择题和造句）。研究结果表明：评估对词汇习得的影响比搜索更明显，并且当评估以强的形式出现时，作用最为明显。 根据以上
